Hey all, I recently built a new system. Everything has gone as smoothly as anyone could hope for. I noticed though that the Monitor is capped at 120hz, even though it's a 144hz monitor. When I go into my display settings it doesn't give me a option to go any higher. Monitor is, MSI Optix G24C, plugged into a GTX 1080, with a Ryzen 7 1800x. I just thought that was odd that its capped at that. MSI's website doesn't offer anything in the form of drivers for the monitor. Is it being held back by hardware configuration? Thanks
Most manufacturers state that 1800r is the best curvature for gaming monitors since this type offers the best between viewing angles and immersive effects when using a display in a near-field posture. So far, MSI has only stated that the Optix G27C will have DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4 and DVI for signal input options. I was just cycling through my monitors settings and options for things. And i came across this weird setting called Over driver Ive searched.

I just received the mSI optix G27c 27' 144hz Monitor. AMA.
Since most people who come across this particular monitor don't, like I didn't, have a wealth of information on the thing, I figure it's probably best if I answer any questions about it here. Using as we speak.
Here's the monitor in reference, if anyone is curious: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824475001&cm_re=msi_optix--24-475-001--Product
And before anyone asks, as this is the oft-debated topic of this monitor, YES, this monitor does have Freesync. It's not stated in any promotion material I've seen, nor does it have the badge emblazoned on it, but it is accessible through the on-board menu options.
